Jim Hanley's Universe and Wizards of the Coast present Magic: The Gathering SCARS OF MIRRODIN Launch Parties SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2!

The wait is over, Magic fans! Be at Jim Hanley’s Universe this Saturday, October 2 for the much anticipated launch parties of the new Magic expansion, Scars of Mirrodin, at both JHU locations!

The format, times, and prices are the same as our hugely successful Mirrodin pre-release tourneys from 9/25, but as a reminder, here is the info:

FORMAT: Sealed (Get 6 booster packs of the Scars of Mirrodin set and build a 40 card deck to use and play against opponents for 5 rounds.)

ENTRY FEE, MAIN EVENT: $30
SIDE EVENTS: $15 Booster Drafts, size of events based on participation.

Jeffrey Brown's CATS ARE WEIRD Now Available at JHU!

Jeffrey Brown's new book Cats Are Weird is a must have for all those who live with and love cats. Brown's observations and attention to detail about the coming and going of felines are dead-on.

The book (published by Chronicle and available now at both JHU Locations) is a gorgeous hardcover mixing black and white and color art throughout. Cats Are Weird is a fine sequel to his Cat Getting Out of a Bag and Other Observations. Brown is giving James Kochalka a run for his money as the premier American cat cartoonist!

One of the most enjoyable reads for me in a while!

Magic: The Gathering SCARS OF MIRRODIN Pre-Release Coming to JHU September 25!

Jim Hanley's Universe and Wizards of the Coast present Magic: The Gathering Scars of Mirrodin Pre-Release Tournaments SATURDAY, September 25!

The wait is over, Magic fans! Be at Jim Hanley’s Universe Saturday, September 25 for the much anticipated pre-release of the new Magic expansion, Scars of Mirrodin, at both JHU locations! This is your chance to be the first to get a crack at this brand new expansion set (before it is released to the general public October 1!) at Jim Hanley's Universe in New York City!

FORMAT: Sealed (Get 6 booster packs of the Scars of Mirrodin set and build a 40 card deck to use and play against opponents for 5 rounds.)
ENTRY FEE: $30
Each participant in the Main Event will receive an exclusive promo card!

Seating for the main event is limited (see below). If you can't make the main event, don't worry! We will be doing many side events all day at both locations! The side events will be draft format at only $15!
